Innocent artist GAO ZHEN still is imprisoned in China while the injustice of his case is escalating: The Chinese authorities seized 118 artworks from the Gao Brothers’ art-storage, filling six trucks. The amount of art-pieces represent the life-time work of the artist. And they have been confiscated as evidence for Gao Zhen’s objective and thus critical mind telling the truth about Chinese history. Among the works, by the way, was a piece that had previously been exhibited at the EU Delegation in Beijing. But nearly all the other artworks had never even been publicly shown in China. - For over two months, numerous international media outlets have brought visibility to this barbaric case of violating Human Rights and the Freedom of Speech by Art. Both the EU and the United States have called for Gao Zhen’s release, and this petition demanding his freedom has been signed by thousands. However, the Chinese authorities have not responded, and Gao Zhen remains imprisoned, while his wife and son, who is an American citizen, are under house arrest in China. Our fight must go on to free Gao Zhen from prison.
