As passionate fishermen, we frequently struggle to focus on our fishing rods while performing other tasks at the city dock. This challenge can be significant, as keeping an eye on your rod while tying rigs and hooking bait can be frustrating. Fortunately, we're not alone in this struggle; it’s a common reality for many fellow fishermen who share our passion.

The city dock is believed to have been built as early as 1720. City Dock has not received any major upgrades for over 10 years. Since the pier is open all day for every day of the year, it gets a lot of use. The city can make our local dock more user-friendly for all community members by installing fishing rod holders and a kayak launch. Without rod holders, you have to lay your rods on the ground, which can get in the way of people walking by. Having fishing rod holders will make fishing much easier and create a clearer walkway for people. Adding a kayak launch would make the dock more accessible to paddlers entering or exiting the river. With these additions, the dock will be more convenient for everyone. 

Signing this petition will encourage the city to invest in a kayak launch and rod holders. This addition can create a big difference in promoting outdoor activities and improving this communal space. Join us to make fishing and kayaking at the city dock a more enjoyable experience!
