Help save the Fountain Valley High School dance team program!  A recent decision has been released to combine Pep Squad and the Dance Team.  This would eliminate several key components of our current State and National award winning dance team.  It is the desire of the dancers, coaches, present and former advisors, boosters, and dance parents to keep the Dance Team as a separate entity from Pep Squad. 

* Eliminates the need for a dance advisor, jazz coach and dance boosters. Head dance coach hours would be drastically reduced.

* Reduces the number of team members, excluding students without previous dance experience. Reduces the option of Small, Medium and Large hip hop teams to one team.  Eliminates assembly only option for students. Reduced opportunities for soloists.  The dance team includes both girls and boys, students with no dance experience and dancers with prior dance training all on the same team!

* Eliminates previous fundraisers, team parties and community events.

* Practice hours reduced to 5 hours from 10-15 hours per week.

* Fewer dance competitions

* Conditioning and technique hours reduced.  Reducing cardio, cognitive, social, and strength-building benefits.

The FVHS Dance Team has worked hard over many years with the assistance of the coaches, advisors, parents and boosters to become a recognizable and respected team at various competitions and within the community. Help us fight for our award winning program!
