I wanted to give everyone an update this morning. It's been a few hours since I created this petition. To be fully transparent, this wasn't an easy decision. It's tough going public for everyone to see.
Many have asked, "Where is 'Boston' right this moment!?" My 'Boston' is in the hands of pet-sitter who has taken him hostage after paying them for pet-sitting and asking numerous times for him to be returned. As many of you know, animals can VERY EASILY become family members. Could you imagine what it feels like losing a family member or having them taken from you?
I wrote down a few thoughts on why I decided to go public with my personal story about 'Boston' and why I have created this petition:
- I love animals and I will always be an animal advocate.
- This entire situation has kindled a drive in me to do good and help raise awareness for animals who are being held without their will or the owner's will/best-interests in mind.
- I want to help make a difference for other individuals going through similar situations by using my story as a sounding board.
- I want others to not only sign my petition and help me get 'Boston' back, but actually put your signature into action by donating your personal time, money, and energy into your nearest local non-profit animal organization. As for me, I am very committed to Boston Animal Rescue Collaborative (BARC).
