Zoning change to Apartments from neighborhood shopping center in Haslet area.

The Issue

With the explosive growth in the Haslet/Fort Worth area we have seen an exponential increase in traffic with minimal road development to support this growth.

We love our communities and want to see the best vision for the surrounding areas.  

This petition is to collectively express our displeasure with the proposed zoning change to Tract 4 and 5 of the property at the intersection of Bonds Ranch road and Willow Springs road.

We oppose the potential change from “Neighborhood Commercial” to “Medium Density Multi-family”.  Due to the massive amounts of congestion in the area we don’t believe adding dense residential developments would increase the value of the area.

The immediate area is much in need of a local shopping center and the current zoning would be a compliment to the diversity of developments.  We have no local commercial retail opportunities and would like to keep that zoning intact.

Please take this petition in consideration when making the decision to approve this change.  The voters in this area are well aware of the detriment to the local communities that this would cause and are firmly opposed to any vote to this change.
