Thank you for your support over the last six years! Tomorrow is an important public hearing, which will be our first time in front of the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA). Please come voice your concern in person at Huntington Town Hall on Thursday, January 13 at 6pm! 

Although there have been some changes to the proposed development in the past few years this is still a huge burden to the primary Crab Meadow Watershed. Up to 86 townhomes could be built on the corners of this golf course (only 50 feet from our neighbors backyards) and they plan to expand the clubhouse by 30%. 

The only reason a golf course can operate in the current R-40 (one acre) zoning is because the ZBA issued a special use permit in 1961. It has been over 60 years and this is not the same golf course it once was -- with the negative impacts to water quality and massive amount of erosion by the 12th and 13th hole (of 5-6 feet PER YEAR). The ZBA should look at the entire project and understand how removing over 16 acres of natural vegetation, adding up to 86 townhomes and increasing the clubhouse by 30% will impact this sensitive land.

Unfortunately the Town of Huntington has still not finalized the Crab Meadow Watershed Hydrology Study and Stewardship Plan. We do not understand the reason for this long delay.
