100% Clean Renewable Energy Fort Collins

100% Clean Renewable Energy Fort Collins
The Issue
We, residents of Fort Collins, call on City Council to commit to sourcing 100% of electricity for Fort Collins from clean renewable resources by 2030, and to take the necessary actions to achieve this goal.
By committing to source 100% our electricity from clean renewable resources by 2030, Fort Collins City Council can help to create local jobs, save money on electric costs, reduce local and global pollution, and improve the quality of life for everyone in Fort Collins. It is technically possible to make the transition to 100% clean renewable energy today. With the exception of needed energy storage technology it is economically feasible to make the transition today. Storage technology is advancing rapidly, and by 2030, 100% clean renewable energy will be the best economic as well as the best environmental choice. But we have to start now to reach that goal. Over 200 cities across the country have already made this pledge, including Pueblo, Boulder, Aspen, and Nederland in Colorado.
