We are alumni of Long Beach Polytechnic High School and are contacting you today to raise awareness of the incredible and life altering performance of Libby Huff, an award winning teacher at Poly, who has garnered numerous accolades (5 times Teacher of the Year), who has created innumerable opportunities for and been a constant source of support to and advocate for Poly Highstudents. Collectively, we are parents, teachers, doctors, lawyers, and community members who care and give back to the Poly community. We send our kids to Poly. We still wear our green and gold swag. You can find us at the football games chanting “Once a Jackrabbit, Always a Jackrabbit”. We completely support Ms. Huff and do not stand for entitlement of any kind in students, nor the “Tyranny of Tender Feelings” that has afflicted far too many of our students in this soft day and age...especially the uninformed students that are leading this disgraceful, misguided, Gaslighting effort against Libby Huff.

After reading the testimonies from students against Libby Huff, we are calling on you to fully inform yourselves about the truth of Ms. Huff’s employment at Poly High School and to protect Ms. Huff’s teaching position and reputation, so that no more students will be able tointentionally inflict childish abuse and retribution for the failing grades they earned, upon Ms. Huff or any other teacher who truly cares for our children.

It is disgraceful that a school that receives national recognition for our sports, academics, and ethnic diversity would fail to protect its teachers from the capricious and unfounded accusations of the uninformed mob or individuals with vendettas. Multiple students have testified about how Ms. Huff has lovingly and positively impacted their lives, and that they don’t know where they would be today without her and the PacRim Academyenvironment she created.

Long Beach Poly High School is 89 percent students of color. Ms. Huff as seamlessly created a welcoming environment in which all students, regardless of their background, can learn, achieve and thrive...an environment in which students feel supported and empowered.

As alumni in support of Ms. Huff, we demand the following:
Stop giving into and feeding the demands of underperforming, entitled students with axes to grind, who only oppose Ms. Huff because she demands excellence of them and will not coddle them as they are accustomed to.

Become familiar with the details of Our testimonies of support.
Stop giving voice to the demands of students that have received failing grades, and who terrorize teachers as a result of their own lack of effort and performance.

Restore Libby Huff to full teaching status, so she can continue to be a positive presence in students’ lives.
