For many years as an immigrant Filipino, I was enamored and bonded well with my brother for life Jollibee. I reminisce memories of my childhood as I walked with my parents in the restaurants whenever we go for vacation in the countryside areas of the Philippines. I vividly remember the aroma of the burgers and spaghetti. Eventually as I grew older, I began to lose touch with the bee when I discovered in the news that the corporation will implement halal in their menus. As a young adult Christian with the goal of self-improvement, it was a quick and unregrettable decision to abstain myself from eating in Jollibee as I can find other alternative options in Canada. However, I soon realize recently that many competing restaurants are adopting halal options. For this reason, I had to take a step forward with this petition. Whether or not it makes a difference in the vastness of this capitalism world of fast food industry, I valiantly will endeavor this goal. As I had a short but memorable bond with Jollibee, I call for a reunion to its original and faithful recipe undefiled by motivation for money. There are positive ways this can attain to. As halal is inclined for Muslims, I believe removing the option gives the freedom for the customer to choose if their meat has to be included. By making halal foods only, it marginalizes towards a certain culture and thus customers of different religions may be dissatisfied. I hope this petition calls for awareness not only to Jollibee corporation but to the entirety of the fast food world of Canada and beyond the coastlines of this nation.
