Force UK Government to Intervene

The Issue

Sajawal is a 16-year-old boy from west London. Energetic, vivacious, and full of youthful dreams, he went to Sweden to participate in a youth football tournament. A tragic accident in a swimming pool led to him drowning and, subsequently, entering into a coma, where he lies hooked to a life support system. His fate now hinges on the life support that is helping him sustain, which is, regrettably, under threat of being turned off by the Swedish hospital he is in.

This situation is distressing to his loved ones, and we believe swift action from the British government can help. There have been cases worldwide where foreign governments intervened to secure their citizens' welfare. Notably, in 2017, American student Otto Warmbier was medically evacuated from North Korea after a diplomatic push by US officials (Source: Independent.co.uk). We advocate similar intervention in Sajawal’s case.

To achieve this, we request the UK government to exert diplomatic pressure on Sweden to reevaluate their decision, ensuring they consider Sajawal’s best interests, alongside medical judgment. Time is of the essence in saving Sajawal's life. Your signature can potentially influence a life or death decision. Please, sign this petition today.
