The Issue

Dear citizens of Buffalo and Beyond,

We know that the Erie County District Attorney, John Flynn, has failed to uphold his duties and responsibilities as an elected official. We believe that it is time for him to resign from his position.

There have been numerous instances where Mr. Flynn has demonstrated a lack of judgment and professionalism in his role as a prosecutor.  Father Joseph Moreno's case is just one example of Flynn mishandling cases involving the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo and incomplete police work; undermining public trust in the justice system.

Furthermore, Mr. Flynn has made controversial and incorrect rulings that have caused irreparable harm to victims, their families and the legal proceedings surrounding the cases in question - reinforcing the suspicions of corruption within the D.A.'s office.

These actions are unacceptable for someone who holds such an important position in our community. As taxpayers and residents of Erie County, we deserve a district attorney who will prioritize justice and fairness for all individuals, including victims of clergy sex abuse - regardless of the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo's concerns or demands.

We urge Mr. Flynn to step down from his position immediately so that we can begin the process of finding a new district attorney who will represent the interests of all members of our community.

Thank you for your support in this matter.

Sincerely,

Sue & Joe Sr. Moreno, Rachael and Greg Hunter and the Citizens of Buffalo New York
