This is my contribution to Citizen's Discussion at Tuesday's City Council meeting:

Good morning,

It seems that our city is intent on doing harm to the city of Manitou Springs.

Taking things away from them.

Our city illegally acquired the piece of land that is supposed to be part of the Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway.

The Manitou Incline, which is also not legal, became more, and the Cog Railway became less.

This does harm to the entire city of Manitou Springs as well as America's Mountain.

The Broadmoor forced the city of Manitou Springs into tax breaks with a threat of closing the Cog Railway permanently.

More recently our city tricked voters into taking a third of the general fund of Manitou Springs away from them.

My impression is that the Manitou Incline is something of a parasite.

Are we sucking the blood out of the great city of Manitou Springs to feed the demon in the Incline?

Our city is better than that and I believe that most of our current leaders are better than that.

When the land swap is reversed will the Cog Railway and city of Manitou Springs be blessed?

Surely they need the tax money that we have stolen from them back.

Does our city plan to return all of the revenue from the sale of recreational marijuana to them when 300 is overturned?

Do we have some estimate for when that will happen so I can give them an update?

If I were to ever be blessed enough to become the owner of the Cog Railway I would tear up the tax break agreement and return all of the money on day one.

I believe that it has been a mistake to invest in the Manitou Incline.

Blessings come forth from the mountain in manifold ways for our city, and Manitou Springs is part of the mountain by virtue of its sitting right at it's base.

When we weaken the city of Manitou Springs, we deprive ourselves of great graces.

The energies produced by the Manitou Incline are an abomination, on some level the opposite of the good graces of America's mountain.

As the Proud Stewards of Americas Mountain we have many ways in which we can bring improvement.

I pray that our leaders will get all of the help and support that they need going forward to deal with these issues.
