Heights ResidentHouston, TX, United States
May 25, 2022

Hello Team -

Its time to turn up the heat! We had approx. 15 representatives on 11th discussing issues with Mayor Turner.  PLEASE EMAIL him, thank him for coming out to 11th street and why it is imperative he NOT proceed with the project.

Use personal examples, pictures of delivery trucks on 11th, congestion on 11th street as well as facts such as these examples:  ** Insert Pictures in the BODY of email - not as attachments**

* 11th street currently meets or exceeds Vision Zero Goals of no fatalities or serious injuries

* 55% of crashes are at 3 intersections and do not require a full corridor re-design

* Transportation Planning significantly underestimates traffic growth rate

* 11th street exceeds FHWA guidelines for TLWTL Road Diet for “probably feasible”

* 11th street exceeds the City’s MTFP ADT guidelines if reduced to 2 lanes by 2023 with 3.51% growth

* The Cities Mobility Report recommendation for 11th is to “Maintain number of lanes (4)”

* 14th and 19th Streets are already “signed bike path”.  These streets need to be completed which would provide a safer route for cyclists.
