First of all, thank you to each of you: we managed to surpass 300,000 before the next European Council meeting, which will happen on the 23rd June.

"All four of us support the status of immediate candidate for accession," In a joint press conference with Germany's Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian premier Mario Draghi and the Romanian president Klaus Iohannis, French President Emmanuel Macron announced these 4 countries are supporting immediate candidate status for Ukraine.

They are not the first ones but it is the sign that almost all European Heads of State and Government are now backing it. But we need unanimity and a few EU leaders remain silent or unclear.

In one week, the next European Council meeting will discuss Ukraine's EU candidate status. And all 27 leaders need to agree to grant Ukraine EU candidate status. If one of them says no, then this status won't be granted.

We believe citizen initiatives such as this petition could help make European leaders realize that European citizens want this commitment and want to show Ukrainians that Ukraine will have a European future.
