„For the protection of celebrity privacy – stop the sensationalism!“

Das Problem

First of all, I would like to say that English is not my native language. I have read this text several times and hope that there are no mistakes. If this is the case, I apologise in advance.

We are calling for a fundamental change in the way celebrity privacy is treated, particularly in light of the tragic events surrounding Liam Payne. The pressure and stress caused by constant media attention can have devastating consequences. Liam Payne, a talented artist, has passed away at just 31 years old, and his family learned of this terrible news via social media.

The release of images from the scene of his death and the alleged image of Liam himself of his dead body, which continues to circulate on the internet despite being temporarily deleted, are disrespectful and deeply violate the privacy of his loved ones. Liam's family, particularly his father Geoff, were mobbed by paparazzi upon arrival in Argentina, with no consideration for his grief. Fans tried to stop the press from taking pictures, but the media's ruthlessness continued. In addition, Liam Payne's ex-girlfriend has spread further incriminating rumors/statements.

We must ensure that such violations of privacy are no longer tolerated. It is time to create clear guidelines that encourage respectful treatment of the lives and deaths of public figures.

We must ask ourselves: does everything have to be put on the internet? Why is sensationalism so great that people's privacy is violated? No one should be publicly paraded or humiliated just because they are famous.

We demand a law that regulates the way the media deals with the lives of public figures and sets clear boundaries. It is time that we as a society show more respect and consideration for people in public life. These people contribute a lot to culture and entertainment and deserve our respect.

We appeal to media such as TMZ, Daily Mail and others to take responsibility and take the pressure off the shoulders of those affected. An apology from the media would be more than appropriate in this case. Everyone has the right to a dignified mourning and privacy.

Please support this petition to make a statement and bring about change. Let's make sure the media takes responsibility and protects the privacy of celebrities.

It must stop to profit from the lives of celebrities and public figures! We need to set boundaries! Here is the limit, and no further!

Thank you for taking the time to read this petition and for making an important contribution with your signature!
