On September 23rd, I sent a letter by certified mail to the attention of Mr. Sergio Antonio García Torres, General Director of the Spanish Government for Animal Rights, asking Spain to be a country free of dolphin parks. I am asking him to enact a law that would prohibit dolphin parks in Spain and the Canary Islands, just as other countries have done, and Spain could stop being the country with the most captive cetaceans, to be a country free of dolphin parks.
Just like in other countries, Spain could begin by prohibiting the breeding and buying of dolphins in captivity, thus preventing dolphin parks from capturing more dolphins from their natural habitat, and taking the dolphins that still remain in aquariums or zoos to a marine sanctuary for them to re-learn their habits, such as fishing for food.
Please, help me collect signatures, and be able to live in a country free of dolphin parks: #noesPaísparaDelfines. Please share my petition.
