This has been viewed over 14,000 times and over 1100 of us have put our names to this message to the VFGPA board.
A Fish & Game Club that cares only about guns makes about as much sense as a Garden Club only interested in shovels.
I care nothing for small self-important men that would see their names fully spelled out in print (usually with the caps lock on) taking credit for our work. I care about the heart and soul of my club being stolen to satisfy some greasy, self-satisfying urge to compensate for their otherwise non-existent importance.
I have friends in that club that are afraid to speak up for fear of having their discipline budget slashed by the "executive." That is not right.
We requested that VFGPA use _our_ budget generated by the Mosaic access program to fund another, and vastly more important, fork in the battle for access, and one that can not be revoked at the whim of Mosaic. They already screwed that agreement up, bragging about agreeing to move from a one year to a two year term. The only opportunity to go back with an ask for more gates serving _other_ clubs is the end of term. It is a BCWF agreement, not VFGPA private property.
I made and largely paid for the Mosaic agreement, as anyone that saw me out at Butler, Kapoor, or Copper Main developing the electronic gates can attest. The keyholders and the industry group I put together to get 'er done paid for the rest. The current VFGPA executive is claiming the access program cost the club 10's of thousands of dollars. I was the board director responsible for the initiative, and I call bullshit, never mind all the new memberships the club gained, currently in excess of $200 per head plus the key fees.
Their response? After kicking me off the board and putting a wrecking ball through the carefully negotiated Mosaic agreement, word is that the idea has been floated to revoke my membership and to allocate a budget for legal counsel to deal with _me_.
In what alternate universe am I the problem here? I recently watched "Hitler's Inner Circle," and I am struck by the similarities to the operation of the VFGPA executive. No wonder the Nazi's lost.
We are the silent majority - the heart, soul, manpower, and money of our clubs, and it is us that provide the social legitimacy sheltering the fragile freedom of a small number of soulless gun fanatics with no other interest than to own their restricted firearms, currently in control of our club treasury.
Please sign and share this petition, and let them know we are coming for _them_ if they betray us in this, the final hour of our fight!
