For decades the people of Harlan County Kentucky have paid higher gas prices than neighboring counties.  Gas is routinely 20-30 cents higher per gallon in Harlan County than in neighboring Bell County, Kentucky and Lee County, Virginia.  The citizens and friends of Harlan Kentucky feel that if some outside competition were to locate in town it could spike interest and some competition in gasoline prices for the community.  As of right now, there are no major retail chains (ie Food City, Kroger, Walmart)  with gas stations at their stores in the city.   We feel that a new Food City store with Gas and Go or even just a stand alone Gas and Go station would be beneficial for our community and would be a good investment for your company.  

A new Food City store with a Gas and Go, or even just a stand alone Gas and Go location would be beneficial to our community and good for the entire business environment in our county.   With a population fo nearly 30,000 and a tourism industry that thrives on ATV riding, a new Food City store or Gas and Go stand alone location would be a very popular spot among citizens and tourists.  Our citizens look forward to continuing our relationship with Food City and K-VA-T stores.
