Subject: Request for Immediate Repair of Potholes on Halse Road near Brackley

We, the undersigned residents and road users, wish to formally raise concerns regarding the deteriorating condition of Halse Road near Brackley.

The road surface has developed multiple deep potholes and areas of crumbling tarmac, creating serious safety hazards.  These defects pose risks to:

Motorists and cyclists
Pedestrians and horse riders
School transport and public service vehicles
Emergency vehicles requiring safe and timely access

The damage is worsening, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall, when potholes fill with water and become difficult to see.  Several vehicles have already sustained damage, and there is a growing risk of accidents.

Halse Road is an important local route for residents, businesses, and agricultural traffic.  Its current condition is unacceptable and requires urgent attention.

We respectfully request that West Northamptonshire Council:

1. Conduct an immediate comprehensive inspection of Halse Road to be documented.
2. Arrange prompt and permanent repairs to all potholes.
3. Consider resurfacing the affected stretch to prevent recurring issues.
4. Improve drainage where necessary to protect the road surface long term.
We ask that this matter be treated as a priority in the interest of public safety as this stretch of road is considered totally “UNFIT FOR PURPOSE”.
