Victory!

We did it! The NJ DOT has installed everything they promised, making the intersection safer for our children.

• More crossing time, now at least 20 seconds (observed today)
• Countdown pedestrian signals showing how much time is left to cross the road are in place!
• A new system lets people start crossing before cars move, reducing the chances that children will be run over by cars making turns
• High-visibility crosswalks make crossings more noticeable
• School crossing signs provide extra warnings for drivers

This is a huge victory! Our main goal was to give kids more time to cross safely, and we achieved it 💪

Time will tell if the long wait for a green light improves, but for now, let’s celebrate this success.
