We’ve gathered almost 100 signatures on our petition! Thank you so much for your support!

I also received a response from Mayor McCormac regarding this issue.

Mayor McCormac:

"We have had conversations with the DOT about this recently. The State has a plan to repave Route 35 from the Rahway border to the Perth Amboy border which would involve recalibrating all of the lights on the road. Because of that there is no chance that they would just pick one light now to change the pattern because it would impact the other lights north and south of that light so they all must be done together since they are so close. 

We have made it clear to the DOT that we would like this light considered for adjustment and we will have a chance to talk in person with them as the project gets closer (sometime next year) because they will need our help with traffic control during the project. Councilwoman Sharon McAuliffe has also relayed your concerns to us and we will be sure to have a seat at the table when the entire project is in the planning stage."

This is a great step forward, but we still need to stay engaged to make sure this issue remains a priority! Also, it's reassuring to know that Councilwoman McAuliffe is also advocating for this issue👍
