Roblox is a well-known platform well known, and is used by kids all over the globe. Unfortunately, after multiple lawsuits regarding child safety, Roblox added an age-verification system, requiring facial scans to use the chat feature. This facial scan is not only inaccurate, but a band-aid solution to the predator problem, only pretending they are fixing it. Any predator could, hypothetically, use a picture or video to pretend they are a teenager. 

This does not even cover the problem of data leaks. Roblox outsources its problem to a company called "Persona", trusting highly sensitive information to another company. 

A third issue with this system is the games on Roblox. Roblox is used as a social platform by alot of players, and segregating age groups into boundaries is harmful to "roleplaying" games, such as Cafes, where talking is vital to playing the game. Without this being reverted, many Roblox developers could lose the jobs that they use to pay bills with. The time for change is now, as this feature will be fully implemented in 2026.

A simple solution for this could be simply dividing age ranges into "-13", or "13+" to comply with privacy laws. Of course, this could vary by nation or state. 

Another solution to this is simply not doing anything. Although this may seem bad in the short term, this would effectively push moderation to actually moderate instead of just adding more restrictions, making the platform worse as a result.
