Just a small update here regarding work going on behind the scenes.
Despite West Yorkshire Police advising that the CPS wasn’t progressing the case and their reasons why - one being public interest, the CPS advised The Mirfield Mail that they’d not seen our case since May of last year.
Once West Yorkshire Police had advised us of what we were led to believe was the CPS decision they gave me advice then how to appeal. There is a Victim Right to Review process which our inspector gave me advice on how to find the process and fill in the form to apply.
ive since had a reply from the Criminal Justice Department to say a VRR cannot be carried out as the CPS haven’t made a charging decision and haven’t seen the file. In fact the file is still showing as the investigation is ongoing. I am unsure if this gives the Club renewed hope that the case might be seen by the CPS in the future if the police complete the action plan and the Knowl may get her day in court.
All this information has been passed to Kim Leadbeater and the West Yorkshire Police Commission. We are still waiting on previous action too from the Minister Kim wrote to on behalf of the club.
Ironically we’ve been informed that the new social club the alleged has moved onto has members who have now put a petition together requesting that she isn’t allowed to join their committee. Unsure whether the concern has come from adverts the alleged posted looking for staff for the club, The Mirfield Mail article or this petition. But it is nice to see that the members are taking a stand to protect their club.
Please keep signing and sharing the petition. It really all will help.
