Murphy Field: Community Meeting Monday January 22

Hello!

It's been a long time since you may have thought about this issue, but the City of Boston is finally ready to present plans for the development of the Murphy Field park. Our goal is to have the City improve the playing field space for the vibrant youth sports programs in our community. This field has been neglected for too long and to make it safe and usable for soccer and baseball, it needs serious improvement. The City of Boston has allocated over $2mil to the project, but little to none of that money is currently allocated to improve the quality of the playing surface. Currently funds are planned for fixing bleachers, perimeter fencing, lighting, and possibly the addition of a running track, which would likely take space away from baseball and soccer fields. Having your presence at this meeting would help give voice to where the need is greatest. From the link below, you can register for the Zoom meeting on Monday evening at 6pm.
