Petition Gets Local News Coverage

Great progress this past week thanks to the support we're getting through this petition. It caught the attention of Jamaica Plain News who ran an article today helping further raise awareness about the need for fixing Murphy Field. Additionally, last week at the Parks and Recreation budget hearing we had clear support from City Councilors Matt O'Malley and Andrea Campbell, as well as Parks Commissioner Ryan Woods. Seven people, including four young athletes from JPYS and Regan, provided testimony at the hearing and spoke with clarity and conviction about the need for new athletic fields in our community.

We should feel great about the awareness we've been able to bring to this issue in a relatively short period of time, but we need to continue with our efforts to show strong community support behind this initiative, so please spread the word and help us get more signatures on this petition. This project has not been approved yet by the City -- there is still work to do. Again, a huge thank you to everyone who has signed this petition and provided written testimony about why this is so important. Let's keep it up!
