Another truck crash on Brown Mountain (16 May, 2024) one of the most unsafe, unstable and unreliable mountain roads in NSW,  vital strategic link between  the Bega Valley and the Sapphire Coast and Canberra, Cooma the Monaro and the Riverina. This 10kms mountain pass road section c;imbing 1,000m up the Great Divide now has three red light single-lane closures from major landslips, delaying essential freight, health and tourist traffic and creating holiday weekend tourist traffic jams 2 and 3kms long. Transport NSW obfuscates and delays about long-term solutions while continuing Band Aid expensive repairs of damage and closures due to rock falls, tree falls and landslips. FIX THE BROWN non-profit, community campaign calls for Federal/State funding of a $15m independent engineering study to recommend options for a major upgrade of the existing route or identifying an alternative route.  You can help make this happen by signing and share this FIX THE BROWN petition. Thank you for caring.
