Thank you to every person who has signed, shared, emailed MPs, spoken up, or supported this campaign calling for Tasmania’s Anti-Discrimination Act to clearly define sex and protect women and girls’ rights, spaces, and services.

This milestone matters.

Recently, Premier Jeremy Rockliff formally responded to correspondence regarding our concerns and confirmed that the Tasmanian Government currently has “no plans” to amend the Anti-Discrimination Act to define sex.

While we are disappointed by this response, it also demonstrates why continued public engagement is so important. The issue has now been formally raised at the highest levels of government, and over 1,000 people have added their names in support of legislative clarity and safeguarding sex-based protections.

This campaign has always been about respectful democratic participation. Many Tasmanians are concerned about the erosion of clear sex-based rights and language in law and policy, particularly where it affects women’s sport, privacy, safeguarding, and services.

We believe these concerns deserve open discussion, not dismissal.

Reaching 1,000 signatures shows this conversation is not going away.

Thank you again for your support. Please continue sharing the petition so we can keep building momentum and ensure community voices are heard.

Every signature helps.
