Fix Roblox and make it great again
The Issue
Roblox has abandoned its core promise of being a free, open platform for young creators by implementing severe corporate updates. Under the platform's current publishing policies, developers are forced to pay a 1,000 Robux publishing fee per game or maintain a continuous Roblox Plus/Premium subscription just to make their experiences accessible to all ages.
Worse yet, to prevent younger children from playing independent games, Roblox mandates that an experience must secure 500 unique plays from "highly engaged users" within a 60-day window to qualify for all-ages discovery. Because Roblox specifically defines "highly engaged users" as players who routinely spend real-world money on the platform, this metric heavily rewards pay-to-win developers, effectively choking out organic, free-to-play innovation in favour of corporate "brainrot" spam games. Alongside these financial barriers, Roblox relies on sweeping automated moderation that issues permanent hardware or household IP bans for minor offences, false reports, or basic communication errors—all while failing to use smart, context-aware AI to stop actual predators in chat.
Why People Should Sign This Petition
To Save the "Free to Create" Motto: Roblox was built on the premise that any child or independent creator can build a game for free. Forcing young creators to pay 1,000 Robux or buy a subscription to reach an audience gatekeeps the platform and destroys the next generation of developers.
To Stop Corporate Dominination: Independent games are losing visibility because the algorithm favours heavy-spending, pay-to-win player metrics. Signing demands that Roblox update its algorithm to push games based on genuine search queries and community popularity rather than commercial financial metrics.
To Enforce True, Context-Aware Child Safety: Instead of forcing invasive government ID checks on parents that alienate families
To Fight Unfair Automated Bans: The platform's current moderation framework is broken.
To Support Essential Quality-of-Life Upgrades: This petition urges Roblox to listen to the DevForum community by adding built-in game review ratings, offline local-client game saving, robust built-in appeal ticketing interfaces, and sophisticated creator tools directly into the engine.
