At today’s LESC interim meeting, a working draft for an amendment to the Attendance for Success Act, for students with disabilities and how schools should enforce attendance for those with an IEP or Section 504 was debated. The working draft hasn’t been posted, but based on the description this is great progress - thank you New Mexico LESC members! The next steps would be: - The LESC committee voting to endorse a bill, scheduled for the December meeting; - The Governor making this a priority for the 2026 legislative session Thank you again for your support and sharing.
