Friends, we are getting places!
Despite all the naysayers, I'm happy to report that we have succeeded in establishing contact with a qualified individual at the DOB technical team who is willing to assist us with at least some of our IT issues!
Of course progress could be faster, but to date we have helped partially solve one major issue affecting Gmail addresses and other Google-hosted email addresses. If you use a Google-based email account and were not receiving certain inspection related emails, you should have seen emails from a new DOB email account <DOBNOTIFICATION@buildings.nyc.gov> over the last week or so.
The DOB tech team is working with Google to address the issue, but as a temporary solution, a follow up email is being sent from the above email account to the licensed professional on record in addition to the generic notification informing them that an inspection is scheduled.
It seems that these backup emails are only for physical inspections, pass & pass-final, and signoffs and they are usually sent overnight and not in real time. We are working with our contact to address the issue for inspections received or scheduled as well, in addition to lots of other concerns shared by petition members.
For maximum success of this effort, please submit any additional issues you or your clients are seeing as soon as possible, and we will try to address them one by one!
We will get to the finish line, G-d willing!
