Prop 19 is a ticking time bomb. You or your kids may lose your family home due to huge property tax increases. PROP 19… Californians were sold a bill of goods. Narrowly passing in the middle of the pandemic, its hidden fine print has become a nightmare for homeowners, forcing sales of their homes. Tenants are also losing their homes when their landlords must sell.
Sign the petition to get this back on the ballot, so people can vote fairly this time.
Seniors 55+ will still be able to transfer their existing property tax base for the primary residence to any county in CA – and it will be retroactive!
ABOUT PROP 19:
- A trust will not protect you.
- The $12 million estate tax exemption will not protect you.
- This is a non-partisan grassroots endeavor. (Finally the parties are working together!)
- There will be no $1 million exemption for the child if the parent has moved out of the family home to a retirement home.
- Children may lose the $1 million exemption if they can’t move back to their family home within the required year.
- Prop 19 makes the dream of homeownership even more difficult, as corporations and the very rich buy our family homes.
