Right now, there are 27 years, 42 days, and 14 hours until our Earth runs out of fish. Did you know that every three seconds, one ton of dead or dying fish is dumped back in the ocean? This is because fishing companies that fish with nets often catch more than they expect. Instead of selling it, they throw it back into the ocean. 

Our Earth needs help restoring its resources. I could go on and on about ever single thing us humans have done, but for now, let's focus on one. Fish are one of the bottom layers of the food chain. If we take them out, it collapses. See, fish do so much more than just provide food. They create essential nutrients in rivers and creeks that plants need and keep our ecosystems (including humans) balanced.

In 2050, there will be more plastic in the oceans than fish. Please help do your part by recycling, (If you don't have a recycle bin, use https://sharewaste.com/ to find one) and not littering. If you can, buy seafood from sustainable fishing companies that are transparent about their fishing practices. 

If this petition gets enough signatures, we will ask commercial fishing companies to consider using different methods. It won't matter if the make more money now if their economy is going to collapse in 27 years. We'll speak with them, virtually of course, and tell the the consequences of overfishing.
