The Issue

The New Orleans Pelicans are at a breaking point. After beginning the season 2-8, it has become painfully clear that Head Coach Willie Green has lost this team both in the locker room and on the court. The effort is gone. The chemistry is gone. The belief is gone. And worst of all, the connection between the fans and this team something we’ve fought to build for years is slipping away.

This roster is far too talented to be sitting near the bottom of the Western Conference. The Pelicans currently rank 27th in offensive rating and 28th in defensive rating, showing a complete lack of structure, accountability, and identity on both ends of the floor. There is no visible plan, no adjustments, and no sense of urgency from the coaching staff.

The sad reality is that this team looks lost and that starts at the top. Willie Green’s message no longer resonates with the players. His rotations are confusing, his offensive sets are stagnant, and his defensive schemes have collapsed. It’s not just that we’re losing it’s how we’re losing: with no fight, no confidence, and no direction.

And the fans have had enough.

For years, the people of New Orleans have shown nothing but loyalty and passion for this franchise. We’ve supported through rebuilds, injuries, relocations, and heartbreak. We’ve stayed patient through “the process” and believed in the promises of a bright future. But patience has its limits. This fan base has been waiting far too long for a winning team  and we deserve one.

What makes this situation even worse is that the Pelicans do not own their first-round pick this season. That means there is no silver lining to losing. No incentive to tank. Every loss pushes us further away from relevance and deeper into embarrassment. This team cannot afford to waste another year under a coach who has lost the locker room.

We are tired of being a punchline around the league. We are tired of being disrespected by opposing teams, the media, and even our own front office’s silence in the face of failure. The Pelicans are not a joke  this city is not a joke and the fans deserve to see action that reflects that.

It’s time for accountability.
It’s time for leadership.
It’s time for change.

The first step toward restoring pride, passion, and competitiveness to this franchise is simple:
Fire Willie Green.

We, the fans of the New Orleans Pelicans, call on ownership and the front office to do what’s right for the team, the players, and the city. The people of New Orleans deserve a team that represents their grit, their heart, and their loyalty  not one that folds under pressure and accepts mediocrity.

New Orleans is a city built on resilience and pride  it’s time our basketball team reflected that.

Make the change. Save the season. Respect the fans. Fire Willie Green.
