I am writing this petition because it deeply matters to me and countless others like me who have suffered from the devastating failures of our justice system. Detective Louis Cooper, now a road patrol officer, was once responsible for investigating the case of Wade Wilson, a criminal who was allowed to continue his heinous acts due to Detective Cooper's gross negligence. In his role, Cooper failed to submit crucial DNA evidence for analysis, which could have led to the early apprehension of Wilson and potentially saved lives.

This gross mishandling didn't just terminate justice for one individual; it impacted the lives of many others, including that of Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz, whose lives might have been spared had the investigation been conducted with the due diligence it deserved. Kelly Mathews, the initial victim who desperately needed protection and justice, was let down by those sworn to defend her.

Louis Cooper's failure to prioritize this case with the urgency and care demanded by a matter so serious as sexual assault and sexual battery, demonstrates a concerning lack of empathy and commitment. The ineffectiveness of his actions undermines the confidence victims can place in law enforcement to protect them.

It's crucial for victims of such heinous crimes to not only receive justice but to trust that their cases are handled with the utmost seriousness by those responsible for their protection. To restore faith in our justice system and show zero tolerance for negligence in handling sexually based offenses, I am calling for the immediate dismissal of Louis Cooper from any role within the police agency.

if you are unsure of what case i am speaking of, it is on episode 1 of worst ex ever. Kelly has also made tik toks telling her story. Since then, louis potter has been reassigned to road patrol. This does not help the public nor does it give the public any trust in the department. Potter can easily run into situations similar to kelly’s as a road patrol car as well and as a nation, could we really say we would trust him to handle it well? Could we trust that we would be safe with him as an officer? I don’t think the nation can ever trust louis cooper with any kind of responsibility regarding public safety.  As a sexual assault survivor, i stand with kelly and i ask that you do the same. Wade wilson’s DNA should never have been thrown out, louis potter at the time had his DNA swabbed and never turned it into the forensic lab. Wade wilson wouldve been stopped there had louis potter done his job correctly. This is an outrage!
