Petition to Fire Coach Ryan Day of  The Ohio State University Football Program

To: Ohio State Athletic Department, University Administration, and Board of Trustees

We, the undersigned, are writing to express our deep disappointment with the continued underperformance of the Ohio State Buckeyes football team under the leadership of Head Coach Ryan Day. After four consecutive years of losses to Michigan, we believe that the time has come for a change in leadership. These defeats have caused significant emotional and cultural damage to the team, the university, and the passionate fanbase that has supported Ohio State football for generations.

As the premier football program in the Big Ten, Ohio State has a tradition of excellence, championship-level aspirations, and a fanbase that demands results. While Coach Day has achieved success in many areas, the inability to defeat Michigan—Ohio State’s biggest rival—is unacceptable. The rivalry is the heartbeat of the season, and losing four years in a row to Michigan is a betrayal of everything Ohio State stands for.

We understand that coaching changes are not made lightly, but after these consecutive failures, it is clear that the program needs new leadership to restore its competitive edge. Ryan Day's tenure has not lived up to the standards set by his predecessors, and his inability to win the most important game of the year is a glaring failure that cannot be ignored.

We urge Ohio State University to make the difficult but necessary decision to part ways with Coach Ryan Day. It is time to bring in a proven winner who understands the magnitude of this rivalry and who can take the Buckeyes back to the top of college football.

We also encourage Ohio State to reach out to legendary coaches like Nick Saban—someone who has proven time and again that he can lead teams to greatness. With a coach of his caliber, the Buckeyes will be in the best possible position to reclaim the Big Ten crown, defeat Michigan, and compete for national championships.

We demand change. The pain of these consecutive losses is too much to bear, and it is time for the Buckeyes to move forward with new leadership and a renewed sense of purpose.
