Yesterday we passed 200 signatures and the last day has seen additional 25 signatures. If I remember correctly, this is actually the highest daily signature count apart from the initial launch day. A day worth celebrating but not the reason I'm writing this. You see, we are getting under China's skin.
Earlier today, Chinese state run media outlet CGTN released an article earlier today, claiming that an Olympic boycott would actually be a human rights violation. Specifically, it would violate the athletes right to compete in the Olympics. I mean, I guess you could make that argument but compared to what the Chinese government is doing to its citizens, this comparison is ridiculous. Human lives go before sports.
This is a pretty clear example of the boycott calls having an effect. So let's keep the momentum going.
