The Acoustic Couch CIC or as it has become known as just The Couch needs to find a new home!

The Couch in Bracknell is a grassroots music and community venue in Bracknell town underneath the Highstreet carpark in Bracknell.

 

Unfortunately the Highstreet carpark has closed due to a degrading of the structure and all business under the carpark need to move by the end of 2025 or earlier.

 

This is a petition to the local council and councillors to ask them to help find the music venue and rehearsal room a new home and save a unique part of music culture in Bracknell. I will hand it over to them in 4 months time.

 

Overtime this venue has built up a following of like minded music enthusiasts. All types of music is played there, from Rock to Country, Dance nights to album launches, Comedy nights to cover band nights.

 

It has become a popular place to go out to, somewhere unique in town. A place to meet new people and to enjoy fun evenings. It has also become a place were new bands can showcase their talent. The open mic nights give all types of music and poetry a chance to express themselves and find an audience and offer all genres of music an opportunity. It holds fund raising events for charities and music projects such as stepping stones and the Rock Project. It also offers work experience for college students and other events such as Theatrical and Omni theatre and other community events

 

For many of the above reasons we need to save this venue for Bracknell. Bracknell will be culturally a lot poorer without it. The Couch is also a not for profit Community Interest Company, Any money made goes directly into the running and upkeep of the venue.

 

The more people that sign this petition the more power we have to help save this venue and find it a new home.
