A would like there to be a change in the law or atleast challenge  the law, that allows mothers to refuse known fathers names being registered on children's birth certificates especially without  issues regarding the father. Obviously l know some parents can't be allowed for legal reasons etc, but when it's out of spite or otherwise it should be a criminal offence. Imagine the shoe on the other foot, the biological father registering the baby himself and telling the clerk that she didn't need the mother's details as she was going be absent anyway like it be allowed. THEN AGAIN WE ARE ALL ABOUT EQUAL RIGHTS THESE DAYS?? .......

My brothers ex partner whom he has a kid with has had some devastating news and is terminally ill with months maybe weeks to live which is so sad and tragic. Problem is she is telling my brother he is not getting  custody of his son, her family is getting custody of him when her illness finally takes it toll and my brother has no rights as he is not on the birth certificate through no fault of his own and been told by social workers they can't help him. A find this totally against Fathers & human rights. My brother is not being involved in any discussions with or on behalf of his kids future. He's not a bad person or drug addict pretty normal guy who holds down jobs been there for his son since day he was born. How many other fathers are in same situation accross Britain and maybe just because some mothers want to use kids against dad's  if life does not go as planned the way they want it too. A get some dad's are better off not involved with kids through lifestyle choices but not every estranged dad is evil or useless .

If things don't change there is going be thousands more men & no doubt at present there must be hundreds if not thousands in same situation that don't have any say in there kids life.  l for sure am 1 of those men never mind if a parent passes on and dad's still not got any rights its totally wrong not just for the parent but kids are going think daddy doesn't care ? It's emotionally damaging for both parents and kids. I proved that am the father through dna testing and still not on my oldests birth certificate and this situation has opened my eyes and young guys need to be made aware of this issue aswel for future reference if no changes are made. Maybe new laws should be introduced aswel to differate between dead beat dads who are abusers etc for example and just not interested than the ones who are being punished for whatever reason is behind not giving fathers there full parental responsibilities after relationship breakdowns.

If things don't change and with the way the world is in this day and age this problem is just going get worse and more damaged kids and fathers. If your willing to lay down and make life with another human, whom is willing 2 be part of there kids life it should be made compulsory for both names on birth lines not just what the mother wants or does.
