Todays headline represents how many people have read and shared our petition, which gives me hope that decision makers, like Housing Secretary, Robert Jenrick, may have been one of them?
In yesterdays paper, there was an article headed 'Factoring 'beauty' into new homes will be required under law'. It goes on to say...
"Local Authorities will be required by law to ensure new homes match the character of the area and is designed to shift the balance of power from developers to residents, giving them more control over the character of homes in their neighbourhoods. Ministers hope they will end what is seen as the mass-produced appearance of many new-builds. Gis' a Job - I could do that!
There is already a pilot scheme underway in 20 different Local Authorities and weight will be given to consultations with local residents.
IT'S A SHAME HARROW ISN'T ONE OF THEM!
They've obviously come out on the tube from Westminster and seen what is happening to Harrow's ONCE leafy suburb! A Local Government source stated "We are determined that our planning reforms will mean the end of lazy, identikit new-builds".
The changes to planning rules will be introduced after the Summer recess on September 6th so I'm hoping that Labour controlled Harrow Council and their planning department will see it's not too late to stop the hideous development they are trying to impose on us at 265 The Ridgeway!
