An article in this weeks Harrow Times reports that a block of flats in Imperial Drive, N Harrow "were rejected based on their design".

Deputy Leader of Harrow Conservatives Marilyn Ashton, leading the case for refusal, said she was dissatisfied as it was "a missed opportunity" as "it doesn't look inviting" to "those living in or near it" and it was "incongruous and most unattractive".  

Conservative Cllr Anjana Patel agreed saying the design would be "completely out of character" with neighbouring properties.

Thankfully, Deputy Chair, Labour Cllr Ghazanfar Ali and the majority of the planning committee agreed saying it resembled a "shipping container" urging developers to design something that "fits the surrounding area".

Let's hope this new camaraderie and common sense will still abound when the Ridgeway Development plan is presented  before the Major Developments Committee shortly.
