Big News! We’re one step closer to changing the name of World Menstrual Hygiene Day and fighting menstrual stigma. 

WASH United, the Founders of World Menstrual Hygiene Day, have committed to consult partners and menstrual activists on changing the name of the day. The Menstrual Hygiene Day Team will be spending the later months of 2020 exploring whether the name needs changing and, if so, what the change should be. 

We've been in conversation with WASH United for many months and we’re excited to take part in this consultation. 

A huge thank you to all of you for signing the petition, sharing it with your networks and supporting this movement for change (almost 40,000 of us!). We’d also like to thank WASH United for creating this listening exercise, it is great to be heard. 

We’ll be continuing to make the case for “menstrual health” and we will keep you updated on the progress of the consultation. We ask that you keep making a strong case for “menstrual health” with your networks, both online and offline.
