The Issue

Dear Neighbors:

The City has decided to build a homeless shelter at 2501 25 Ave, at the corner of 86 Street.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Our community deserves something better and we need to fight together to protect against City's proposal. As a concerned community member, I believe that:

  1. Building temporary homeless is not the real solution to the problem of homelessness and will not help homeless families. Such temporary shelters often make money only for the developer and provide little services or security, while damaging communities. The real solution is to build permanent affordable housing for families and seniors in COMMON SENSE.
  2. 86 street @ 25 Ave is our community's CBD and should NOT be the location for a homeless shelter in COMMON SENSE.
  3. The proposed location is surrounded by schools, day cares, and senior centers within blocks and should NOT be the location for a homeless shelter in COMMON SENSE.

Please join Assemblyman William Colton, City Council Member-elect Susan Zhuang, and concerned community members like me into a community fight to stop the city from building a homeless a shelter at 2501 25 Ave.

Thank you for your FIGHT TO PROTECT OUR COMMUNITY!

Regards,

Larry He, Ph.D.
