Okay but after finding this edit on TikTok (and later seeing it reuploaded on YouTube) with “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now”, I genuinely can’t stop thinking about how well this song fits football.

Not as the main World Cup anthem or anything like that, and definitely not to replace the iconic songs we already associate with the World Cup. But somewhere in the atmosphere of the tournament itself. A pre-match intro, a cinematic trailer, a commercial, a montage before kickoff, a dramatic highlight reel… it just fits SO well.

There’s something about the buildup of the song that feels exactly like football. The tension before a big match. The emotion when the players walk into the stadium. The crowd singing, the cameras flashing, the feeling that something historic is about to happen.

Football has always been more than just a game. The World Cup especially is one of those events that brings people together no matter where they’re from. And part of what makes those moments unforgettable is the music connected to them.
