FIFA: Add ‘Feet Don’t Fail Me Now’ to the next World Cup soundtrack

Okay but after finding this edit on TikTok (and later seeing it reuploaded on YouTube) with “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now”, I genuinely can’t stop thinking about how well this song fits football.

Not as the main World Cup anthem or anything like that, and definitely not to replace the iconic songs we already associate with the World Cup. But somewhere in the atmosphere of the tournament itself. A pre-match intro, a cinematic trailer, a commercial, a montage before kickoff, a dramatic highlight reel… it just fits SO well.

There’s something about the buildup of the song that feels exactly like football. The tension before a big match. The emotion when the players walk into the stadium. The crowd singing, the cameras flashing, the feeling that something historic is about to happen.

Football has always been more than just a game. The World Cup especially is one of those events that brings people together no matter where they’re from. And part of what makes those moments unforgettable is the music connected to them.

Some songs instantly remind you of specific tournaments, memories, goals, celebrations and emotions. And honestly, after hearing this edit, “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now” gave me that exact feeling.

It has that cinematic energy that sounds like it belongs in football. Not necessarily as the official anthem, but as part of the experience surrounding the World Cup. The kind of song you hear during an intro package before kickoff and instantly get chills.

Watching that edit made me imagine hearing this song on TV right before a World Cup match starts, while the stadium atmosphere builds up and millions of people around the world are watching. And somehow it just felt right.

I know this is random, but I genuinely think a lot of football fans would understand the vision immediately after hearing it with football visuals.

So this petition is basically just an attempt to get this idea to reach the right people somehow.

Maybe this never happens. Maybe FIFA never even sees this. But if enough people agree that this song captures the emotion and atmosphere of football, maybe there’s a small chance it reaches Gianni Infantino or someone at FIFA.

Because honestly… this song deserves to be heard in a football setting at least once.
