I would like to start off by mentioning...

My guild is actually a sylvari themed guild named Garden Of Dawn [DAWN], and has a lot of positive feedback on wanting to bring/have a new festival come to the Grove. It is a VERY popular guild, and we have been making our own festivals as guild since nothing is provided for us.

Let's give more content, and diverse events to the player base. One of the more intriguing designs are the sylvari, and their "home city" The Grove (which has been stated a lot of times to be one of the more beautiful sceneries yet the player base is never around there.) There are multiple festivals throughout the year, marking holidays or just to fill in for content. Some examples would be the following.

 

Humans/Divinity's Reach:

Wintersday

Festivals of the Four Winds/Queens Jubilee

Lunar New Year

 

Asura/Rata Sum:

Super Adventure Box

 

Norn/Hoelbrak:

Dragon's Bash

 

As you can see two of the selectable races are without festivals to bring the player base together at their major city. The sylvari at The Grove, and Charr at The Black Citadel. Today I would like to propose for the sylvari and The Grove, that ANET attempts to make a festival/seasonal event for them. This concept could possibly increase interest in the sylvari lore, culture, and increase player base interest as a whole, especially to newer players. The charr also suffer from a similar situation. They both have untapped potential to continue their lore and growth.  This will benefit all players in general, with more content, more rewards, more achievements, more unlockables, and bringing the player base together more often. This will also give Free to Play players a little extra to keep them entertained for a bit as well. There is a bunch of positives on proceeding with this, including diverse player characters and more appreciation and love for ALL the playable races. As you can see there is an obvious bias toward humans currently. Give the players a change of scenery and location. I think we all understand the current expansion is priority. However there is nothing wrong with bringing and showing some love to the core game once in awhile as well.

One of our ideas, is right after Halloween, bring Thanksgiving to the Grove! Imagine a fall colored Grove! Red, Yellow, and Orange leaves, imagine having to harvest, preparing food, planting crops,  huge feast tables to sit at and commute at the center of the upper commons!

The other idea is a "Spring blossom" Festival, which could be another way to completely make the Grove bloom with flowers, and cherry blossoms, (someone has suggested also add in it could be like Arbor Day as well.) So possibly plant trees and flowers and bring life to the Grove and protect it from wave's of "undead , blight, and pests" In an instance. One craftable item might be a floral wreath headpiece. (plant vs zombies reference) The lists of ideas is long!

Obviously the idea's for rewards, achievements, skins, currency, etc would be up to ANET. However, as a player base we should band together and say, let's show some love to the other character designs. It would be amazing to see the player base gathered in areas besides Divinity's Reach, and Divinity's Reach, ...oh and did I mention Divinity's reach all the time.

The events are not set in stone, this is just a petition to show interest, in bringing some content, recognition on the designs, and work put in the game in other areas as well as bringing players together. I mean you can never go wrong with more content! 

[DAWN] has done their own seasonal events such as Solstice, Equinox, our own Wintersday, and Spring events. Notice how they are all seasonal to match the concept of sylvari.
