We are in the top 15% of successful petitions! Lets keep spreading the word!

A big thank you goes out to all of our early supporters! Change.org tells me that reaching 50 supporters is a big achievement for any petition. In fact, only 15% of petitions reach this level of support!! This petition has been supported by many who agree that it is timely for Nova Scotia Corrections as they are on the precipice of change; timely for Nova Scotia with an election approaching; and timely for Nova Scotia concerning the case of an 18 year old who has been incarcerated in an adult facility 13 days ago who was beaten up, has not been able to see his parents, and has been in segregation for over a week. This issue is however, a concern for all Canadians and the time has come to increase public knowledge about the challenges young adults in this situation face and the need for, and possibility of, more humane responses to crime, For how we respond can impact the future of these young people and in turn, future public safety.
