We, as humans, have claimed the land as if it's only ours. What about the strays? This land is their home. We took away their habitat in the name of development. These animals starve, struggle to live with wounds, die in accidents caused by vehicles. And now Bombay High Court has taken one more step backwards by restricting people who care for these strays in Nagpur. It will take no time for them to apply this in other cities.

 These animals are so loyal and are in need of love and care. They are wary of humans because of the trauma caused by countless people who abuse these strays. We have valued their life with a mere fine if they are killed or harmed and such issues are not even taken seriously. People are not aware of the laws made for animals. We recently observed a heartless rampage of mass killing dogs. Even healthy dogs were killed and many puppies were left orphaned.

I was flabbergasted at the the statement made by the court to put strays in a shelter or adopt them to be able to feed them. I just can't stop feeling unsettled about it as I got to know how less they know about the situation in shelters. They don't have enough space or funds for sheltering more dogs. They are struggling with expenses. Each and every animal lover is making efforts to help the strays in their own way.

A grown up stray is used to living on roads in their groups. We cannot adopt so many strays. All we can do is to make sure they don't starve and provide them some medical support.

Just because their population is increasing, we should not make them suffer by starving them. That's stooping low as a human and I am ashamed of being a human at this point. We don't starve people to control human population, instead, we suggest contraceptives. We don't kill infected people, we vaccinate and provide cure to help them an also to prevent the infection from spreading.

 People are being fined for being kind to others. We feed these animals to feel less ashamed as a human. 

There are many ways to control their population and diseases. Regular spaying and vaccination drives will help us control their population and preventing rabies and other diseases.

The more we starve them, the more vulnerable they will get to harm humans, get infections and also will starve to death.

It should be a personal choice to feed or not to feed a stray. If we are friendly with the strays, they will not be that wary of humans.

It is so sad that strays have to through so much abuse and caused by self centered and ignorant humans. I can see it in their eyes when these voiceless beings plea for help. Instead of letting them heal from a trauma, this decision is encouraging to torture them even more by making them suffer. They have provided alternatives to feed them that won't work. People will avoid feeding strays as they will fear being fined. 

People who eat twice or thrice a day will have no idea how much pain strays go through while starving and living on the roads when it's raining.

If you can't be kind enough to feed them, don't stop others from doing so. Instead of making our human race even more mean and self centered, create a coexisting environment.  The more we care for them, the less they will harm humans.

 Just because some people are bothered by the sight of strays and don't value their existence, we should not starve them and leave them to die.

Let the kind people be kind. Letting the strays starve is a form of animal cruelty. In labs, we experiment on them and on streets we starve them to death. There's no difference. 

I plea the court to help these poor souls instead of making their lives difficult. Stop this animal cruelty. Consider taking action on good alternatives. We have many serious issues in the nation to worry about.

This petition takes no part in insulting the court. This petition is only a plea of concerned and responsible citizens to the court to do what is right.
