Make lynching a Federal crime

The Issue

I believe it is way past overdue that lynching be a Federal crime.  No one ever deserves this, it's unacceptable.  If you wouldn't be okay with this happening to you personally, or your dearest loved ones, we must all rise and say this is not ok and must change.  We all have hearts, brains and feel pain and illness. To do something so horrid to another when you would never endure it yourself is unjust and must end. It's heartbreaking this is even an act one would ever commit and we have to fight for justice on.  From the years of 1882-1968, 4,743 lynchings took place in America, and more than 72% were Black people.  In the 19th century White people felt it necessary and used it as an excuse to protect White women.  Although it was more based around the freedoms that were brought to Black people after the civil war, White people felt Black people were "getting away with too much freedom" and needed to be more controlled, it had little to do with crime or rape.  Of these lynchings, Mississippi, Georgia and Texas were amongst the worst, with around 500 or more, in each of these states.

How much longer do these injustices need to take place before we all say enough is enough and embrace one another with kindness and compassion for all, not war, aggression, control, hatred and jealousy.  All lives can't matter until Black Lives Matter.
