Bruce from Bowral needs our help. Please give and share: http://bit.ly/HelpBruce
Diagnosed 14th December 2015 with stage 4 squamous cell cancer after having a wisdom tooth removed cause it was "infected". The tooth was compacted in the jaw so no other visible signs of illness or injuries. Up until then Bruce had been a healthy fit and strong dad for Ben aged 11 and Sophie aged 8. He didn't smoke, he wasn't overweight and he didn't drink or have the HPV.
He underwent a radical, 11 hour surgery, on the 21st Dec at the Chris O’Brien LifeHouse. They removed his left fibula to form his new jaw on the right side and had several skin grafts. He lost the facial nerve to one side of his face.
He had a week in rehab and then 6 weeks of daily radiation and chemo (cisplatin) at the same time. Unfortunately after being admitted for pain management it has been discovered that the cancer is back in many places; at the original site, near the thyroid, pelvis, femur and collar bone to name a few.
We are now paying $4,500 every three weeks for Keytuda. Bruce is not ready to leave this world and his kids and I need him with us.
