Hi everyone,

We are almost to 500 supporters, the next hurdle for a promotion boost from  change.org.

The president has signed legislation into law, but it is far weaker than what we are requesting, and meanwhile, as you are all aware I'm sure, the Supreme Court has undermined basic safety by its recent ruling on concealed carry laws. 

A coalition of us could do more. And more should be done. However, after pursuing all of the angles I was able, I was never able to get a response from any teachers' unions or gun control organizations to help organize a work stoppage in order to pass these very reasonable gun safety requests.

Perhaps if we make it to 500 signatures, our next level-up and change.org will make a difference. We need a snowball effect to get attention and show credibility. 

If not, it is at least heartening to know that there were a number of us across the country willing to take collective action to protect our students and our civil society.
