Today the FCC ceremoniously issued a press release to announce a "collaboration" with the Betsy DeVos and the Department of Education to "promote" remote learning.
What new money or initiative did they announce?
Absolutely nothing.
That's right, the FCC used this opportunity to shirk responsibility and point the other way.
This petition has one simple request: The FCC should tell internet providers to waive restrictions on their low-income plans so that the most vulnerable students can get online and go to school.
We must keep the pressure on. SHARE OUT THIS PETITION RIGHT NOW. Tell your friends and family that they can play a part in making sure every child—even those least fortunate—can get online and go to school during the COVID-19 crisis.
